She may not have a cape like Batman or the ability to scale a building quite like Spiderman, but moms are truly the superheroes in our lives. From juggling schedules and cooking meals, to homework help and crafting the best bedtime stories, moms are there to keep us going day in and day out. This Mother’s Day, give mom a break and bring her to Loudoun, which offers numerous experiences to fit any mom’s interests.  Here are five ways to celebrate mom and craft the perfect day in Virginia’s countryside.
For the Wine Lover

Drink and dine at some Loudoun wineries, which will be featuring special brunches at the vineyard in honor of mom. Try croissants with Nutella butter paired with wine at Casanel Vineyards & Winery or participate in a food and wine pairing at Breaux Vineyards, featuring chef Author Clark. At Tarara Winery, enjoy a Garden Party for mom in the outdoor pavilion. For a complete list of winery events for mom, check our events page.
For the Foodie

From lobster benedict at Copperwood Tavern to BBQ and complimentary bubbles at Roots 657, there are plenty of places to enjoy brunch this Mother’s Day. Loudoun is known for having a robust dining scene that prides itself on locally grown ingredients and innovative dishes.  Savor a chocolate-infused dish at The Conche or dine al fresco at the Secret Garden at Shoe’s Cup & Cork in downtown Leesburg.
For the Art and Antiques Enthusiast

Help mom find something new for the house by strolling the galleries in historic Leesburg and Middleburg. Pop into The Cooley Gallery, owned by former Washington Redskins Player Chris Cooley, for a unique piece of pottery or visit the Middleburg Antique Emporium for a rare find. The Old Lucketts Store is also a must-visit for any antique lover as it features vintage finds from more than 35 dealers. After shopping, discover one of the best collections of equestrian and sporting artwork at the National Sporting Library and Museum. The museum not only features an impressive collection of artwork but also a rare book section that gives visitors a glimpse at literary works that spans decades.
For the Garden Lover

What mom doesn’t love a beautiful garden? The warm weather has Loudoun blooming so bring mom to Oatlands Historic House and Gardens to walk the gorgeous four-acre garden, which is comprised of terraces carved into the hillside. After, visit the gardens at Morven Park, which have been blooming for almost a century. The gardens include a beautiful pond and massive boxwood trees that provide excellent shade.
For the Spa Lover

What mom doesn’t want a little time to relax and unwind at the spa. Enjoy wine-themed treatments at both Lansdowne Resort & Spa and Salamander Resort & Spa or do a little shopping before a treatment at Rouge- a spa and boutique in Leesburg. Inova Medical Spa is also featuring discounted services for moms that range from facials to massages.
